  • Having sangria in a plaza, one of my favorite things to do in Spain.

  • Some of my Camino books. I probably have double this number in total.

  • James and I at the Cruz de Ferro (Iron Cross). We had just dropped the stones we had carried since St. Jean Pied-de-Port. My cap displays the pins I was collecting along the Way, and I wore a shell with an image of the St. James cross.

  • Me posing with Spain’s most famous writer, Miguel de Cervantes.

  • Mile markers and sign posts become very important on the Camino. Note my walking sticks strapped to my backpack—this was a flat section of the Camino! I only took my wide-brimmed hat off for the photo. Sun protection was a must—big hat and long sleeves and pants.
